met a client for a new project; saw a former classmate sa SMCS-Ateneo de Iloilo; met a co-faculty sa Smallville late in the afternoon; went to the ukay-ukay somewhere in the city; walked all over the city; ate local bibingka; stressed at some issues I’m not even supposed to have; hmmmm; what a day.
walked all over downtown Iloilo to see what people are selling at the sidewalks; met filmmaker Ace Cruz at the Dinagyang foundation office; booked hotel rooms for friends for Dinagyang 2011; ate halo-halo at Mang Inasal because Deco’s Batchoy is already gone at the Smallville area; now at NBD drinking Arizona Raspberry Iced Tea. hehehe. =P
I don’t like to discuss anything MMFF ‘coz I don’t care anymore who wins but let’s be reminded that politics is to politicians, bus is to bus drivers, films is to filmmakers. I have no idea why on earth is everybody (and I mean, EVERYBODY!) out in the city! All cafes and restos are FULL. And we see people walking (not a common sight) on the streets at 10pm! The cold breeze of Iloilo City must be the reason. I love the breeze. Reminds me of Baguio in the old days. =)

Iloilo City’s traffic is like Manila na. It’s jammed most of the time. had a wonderful afternoon roaming around the city I love. Thank to Mrs. Manikan (of Iloilo City Hall) and Sir Benito T. Jimena (for the big help). Now, I’m with abyan Norbert at Nothing But Desserts. hehehe! gelato, truffles and coffee galore!

Sad news. Award-winning Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi was sent to 6 years in prison and banned from making movies, writing scripts, travelling abroad and talking to foreign media. Panahi is the acclaimed director of “The White Balloon” and “The Circle”. He was not allowed to go to the Venice Filmfest last September where he was supposed to be head of the jury.
I like it when I buy my own ticket because I get to choose a quieter flight with no games, no dancing gimmicks and no in-flight selling. hehehe! Passengers tend to be noisy when the environment tolerates it. On record, mu noisiest flight in 2011 was my recent flight to Davao via Cebu Pacific. I had to check, once in a while, to make sure I wasn’t in a flea market. =P

The day was hectic but full of blessings. It was a combination of work, fun and play. Finally, I was able to meet important friends like Bobby, Seth and Direk Tatay Dodos, Nanay and family. Thank you to Mapee and dearest Kapatid na Riya. And thank you to Jetskie for always being there. You are all God’s angels. =)

The Fighter is one well-acted movie. The characters are complicated but they’re charming with showy scenes belonging to Christian Bale (impressive! he will win an Oscar if Renner’s “The Town” won’t) and Melissa Leo (a marvel here….and yes, she will win too!). But the non-showy roles of Amy Adams (fantastic!) and the overlooked Jack McGee (deserves a nomination),...
